What are the Continuing Education requirements?

APPRAISAL

All registered, licensed and certified appraisers must complete a minimum of 30 hours Board approved continuing education within each renewal period. It is the student's responsibility to ensure they are taking the correct course to fulfill their individual needs. 20 Hours of elective credit, a 7 Hour USPAP Update, and a 3 Hour Florida Appraisal Laws and Rules course make up the 30 continuing education requirements.

MORTGAGE

All Mortgage Brokers, Loan Originators, and Principal Representatives must now complete 14 hours of continuing professional education every two years. Employees of Lenders (Loan originators) must complete this requirement prior to August 31, 2008. Licensed Brokers must complete their hours prior to the August 31, 2009 renewal deadline. Licensees do not need to complete continuing education if it is their first license renewal.

Are there any specific courses required?

APPRAISAL

30 hours of continuing education must include the 7 hour National USPAP Update, 3 hour Florida Real Estate Appraisal Laws and Rules, 3 hour Supervisor/Trainee Roles & Relationships and 17 hours of Elective courses.

MORTGAGE

14 hours of continuing education must include 4 hours of Florida specific laws and rules and the remaining 10 hours of Elective material.

Are the courses approved for credit?

Yes, all of our courses are approved for credit.

What is the cost of the course(s) and what methods of payment are accepted?

The cost of each course is located in the course catalog. You may pay using all major credit cards - Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

How do I get a username and password? What do I use it for? What should I do if I forget it?

During the registration process, you select your own username and password. It should be something that you can easily remember. You will use the same username and password each time you log in to access your course(s). This information is entered in the returning students section on the home page of the website. If you forget your username and password, you can either email support@fastclass.com or call 1-866-455-3278.

Can I take the course from various locations and computers?

Our courses are set up for students to access their courses from any computer that is compatible.

How does a course work?

You take the course at your own pace and on your own time. You can take the course in small increments or all at once. If you exit out of the course, then log back in at a later time, you start back in the lesson that you had been taking.

How long will it take me to complete a course?

Each course has been approved for a specific number of hours. Depending on the pace you review the course, it may take you less or more time to complete the course.

How long do I have access to the course?

You have access to the course for up to 6 months from purchase.

Can I print any of the course material for future reference?

No. The course is entirely online, so you are unable to print any course materials.

What is required to complete the course?

APPRAISAL

Students must successfully complete all modules of your online course and pass the end of course examination required by the state of Florida, with a passing grade of 80% or higher.

The student must complete the final exam in one session. Students will not be allowed to complete the final exam in segments.

MORTGAGE

Students must successfully complete all modules of your online course and pass the end of course examination required by the state of Florida, with a passing grade of 70% or higher.

How do I receive my course completion certificate and how do my hours get submitted for CE credit?

APPRAISAL

You will be able to print a completion certificate upon passing your end of course exam. This certificate should be kept in your permanent records.

The number of successful hours of continuing education will be submitted electronically to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation for you.

MORTGAGE

A certificate of completion will be mailed to you within 5 business days. You will need to keep this certificate in case you are audited and need to prove you completed your continuing education requirement.
